I kept my promise!
I tried….I swear i did..but it can be explained…lemme try.
Weekends are this time where everything moves at a pace that can only be compared to those moments in sports that are played in slow motion once a great catch has been taken or a skillful goal scored..
On weekends, the mind goes on this trip where it refuses to do anything other than the absolutely essential. So, there i go about my business of cleaning and relaxing. That is why very rarely, new posts find their way here. It is only on the weekends that i am not forced to sit in front of a screen. So the break, from being on my way to becomingĀ a bespectacled person with this horribly apparent hunched back and fingers twisted like i was born that way with a curse and all, is quite welcome.
I know you lost me their. But i love long senteces. Their is a challenge they hide. They sort of snigger at you in superiority. A favourite author practised them to the hilt. Sadly, most depend on the simplicity of short, to-the-point sentences.
Clearly, I digressed there. So what i was saying was, thanks to technology, all of us (that could be generalising) are forced to sit before our computers and work. That leaves us with the weekends, where we could give ourselves a break. I try to not connect to the Internet on these days.
It is not that i hate technology. I cannot imagine my life without the geysers, the coffee makers, the toasters, the washing machines. But one has to draw the line somewhere. (one=me)
I prefer to shut out the world on weekends. A few friends and holidays. No emails, strictly. No blogging, very strictly. I know the world can function without me. Yet.
Blogging is such a relief on most days. But weekends are when i get to do my other writing. And I cannot write both sides. Weekdays, the book takes a back seat. Weekends it becomes a priority.
I hope i have explained the little quirk that rules my weekends. But tomorrow is another day, as is said!

Strongly agree on the brevity demanded from writers..its like asking a guitarist to play only wat the listners can understand…brief sentences are for newspapers…A well written long sentence can also pack a punch..you would understand why im so supportive of long complicated sentences…BECAUSE I WORSHIP TOOL
Thank heavens for people like u! Though we are any editor’s nightmare.
